A Palpable Relationship

I guess I'm starting series called "A Palpable Relationship."

"Lay your hands on my mane so that I can feel you are there and let us walk like that.” ~ Aslan

This quote from C.S. Lewis' The Lion, The Which and The Wardrobe takes place right before Aslan (a representation of Jesus) goes to the Stone Table to be humiliated, tortured, and killed.  The line is  preceded by "I am sad and lonely", as He is about to give Himself up for the slaughter, but I left it out. That's because my immediate focus is on Aslan's desire for the children's presence to be felt by Him. He didn't need it, He desired it -- and that's beautiful!

Oh, how it honestly makes me tear up every time I read it.

I want everyone to know that there is a real and palpable relationship to be had with God, and Jesus died so you could have it. His communication with you is not some few and far between event that merely dots the the landscape of your life. It can be a normal happening -- Natural to us, supernatural to the world.

He's been talking to you your whole life, you just didn't notice it was Him speaking. Maybe there are times that you didn't necessarily want to hear what He had to say, but there He was: a still, quiet voice.

Trust that He is in you and you are in Him. Trust your new heart and your new mind of Christ.

He's here, and He's a chatty-Cathy! :)

What is His language? It's Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance; Never, ever fear.

He speaks in many different ways, and you can have an active conversation with Him in many different ways. Like in everything, He meets us where we're at -- still a long ways off -- and takes us to the party.

So, I hope someone will find some encouragement and confirmation in what the LORD has revealed to me. But I also realize that God speaks in different ways to different people, because your relationship with Him is as personal and unique as you are. He knows all the intricate details of your life and your personality -- He's had intimate knowledge of you since before you were born -- and He uses it all to develop His conversation and relationship with you. (Btw, you can expect to hear this over and over again from me, because He keeps saying it to me over and over).

But anyhow.. I hope someone out there enjoys.

"And so the girls did what they would never have dared to do without his permission, but what they had longed to do ever since they first saw him buried their cold hands in the beautiful sea of fur and stroked it and, so doing, walked with him."
~ The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
